BASIC RULES
Press Play
At the beginning of the game, each player draws six cards from their deck. Each player must have at least one Location card to begin. If they don’t, the player must shuffle their cards back into their deck and draw six cards again until they do. Each player plays a Location card face down on the play area. Once this is done the players turn their card face up. The player that played the Location with the lowest HP capacity takes their turn first.
Character Cards
Each player may play one Character from their hand per turn, at any point during their turn. There is no limit to the amount of Characters in play other than the total Location HP capacity (see Location Cards), and no duplicate Character cards may be in play at the same time. A player may choose any Location card in play on which to play a new Character, or play the new Character on a new Location (see Location Cards). Characters receive 3 actions per turn to spend. Putting a Character into play expends 1 action for that Character. Otherwise Character actions and cost are as follows:

If a player starts their turn without a Character in play and does not have one in play by the end of the their turn, they must add 10 HP to their Graveyard.
DRAWING A CARD AS AN ACTION
Once at any point during your turn, you may add 10HP to your Graveyard in order to draw 1 card.
Location Cards
Location Cards make up the setting of the game and create a sort of map that Characters can move around. Each Location has an inherent condition that affects the game in some way. On the first turn of the game a Location’s condition may not be used, but may be used by the second player on their first turn.
Location Types
Each Location card shows two Character type icons next to the Location title. If a Character card has a type icon that matches the Location its on, the controlling player may activate that Character’s Special Ability (if it has one) listed next to the icon on the Character card.
Location HP Capacity
The amount of Character cards that can be in play is limited by the total Location HP capacity. This means the combined total HP of all Characters in play may not exceed the HP total of all Location cards in play. The number listed on the Location card is that Location’s HP capacity. A player may not play a Character card that causes the total amount of Character HP to exceed the Location HP capacity.
Playing A New Location
To play a new Location card after the first round, a player has two options: Use a Character’s actions to discover a new Location, or play a new Character on a new Location.
A Character may use a Play Location action to put a new Location card in play and then use a Move To Location action to move to that Location.
A player may also play a new Location when putting a Character into play. The new Character starts on the new Location.
Location cards must be placed adjacent to another Location so that the cards touch on either a flat side or corner of another Location card.
There is no limit to the amount of Location cards that can be in play, but no duplicate Locations may be in play at the same time.
MovE To Location
A Character may use an action to Move Location to any adjacent Location. On the first Move To Location action of your turn by any Character you control, including to a new Location, you may draw 1 card. You do not draw a card by playing a new Character on a new Location.
Attack
Attacking your opponent’s Character cards lowers that card’s total HP. Once the HP of any given Character card reaches 0, that card must be put into the owners Graveyard. Attacking cost 2 actions. Character cards must be on the same Location to attack each other. The attacking player targets their opponent’s Character card and uses the attack listed on their own Character’s card, subtracting the total DMG number from the opponent Character’s HP. Be sure to include any special conditions or Item DMG if any apply. Keep track of HP by using markers/counters or on a spare piece of paper.
Players can attack with any number of Character cards they have in play, in any order, each turn. During your turn, only one Character may attack one Character at a time. DMG may not be divided between your opponents’ Characters.
Some Item cards have a DMG number and may be used as weapons during the attack. See the Item Cards section.
Secondary Abilities
Many Character cards have secondary abilities listed below their attack. These abilities should be applied as written on the card.
Withdraw
Withdraw cost 3 actions. To Withdraw a Character, remove it from its Location and set it in front of you, off the play area. Keep any DMG on the Character and discard any attached Items or Events. While Withdrawn, this Character is treated as a card in your hand.
Event Cards
Event cards provide bonuses or challenges to you and your opponent respectively. Event cards may be played at any time during a player’s turn, but only one Event card may be played each turn. Discard the Event card once its terms have been satisfied.
Event Cards
Item Cards
Item cards emulate an item that a Character might find when exploring a Location. Some items can be used as weapons, some grant health or other bonuses. When playing an Item, attach it to the Character of your choice before that Character uses any action. Players may play as many Items as they like per round, but Characters may only use one Item card at a time.
Item Use Limit
Each Item card shows a number below the card’s description. This is the Items use limit. This number indicates how many turns the Item can be used until it needs to be discarded. The same Item card may only be used once per turn. The Item does not need to be used every round it is in play. Keep track of how many rounds the Item was used with markers/counters or on a spare piece of paper. Otherwise an Item will remain in play until you choose to discard it, the Location that the Item is in play on is discarded, the Character using the item is removed from play, or another card says to do so.
Item DMG
If an Item card lists a DMG bonus, the Character that the Item card is attached to may add the DMG bonus to its attack.
Transfer Item
A Character may use a Transfer Item action to move an Item to another Character once per turn. The amount of uses for the item remains constant.
Traps
Traps may be played at the end of the player’s turn and do not have an action cost. Traps may only be played once all components of the Trap have been collected in the player’s hand. The fraction number at the bottom right of the Trap card’s description indicates the required amount of components; meaning how many of the same Trap card required to use the Trap. A 1/1 Trap doesn’t require any other components in order to be played, but a 1/4 Trap requires a total of four components in order to be played.
The player laying the Trap chooses a Location card to play it on. The Trap takes effect at the beginning of your opponent’s next turn, before any other conditions or terms are satisfied, or any other cards are played.
Graveyard
When a Character’s HP reaches 0 it should be put into a player’s Graveyard. If a player starts their turn without a Character in play and does not have one in play by the end of the their turn, they must add 10HP to their Graveyard. When the total HP of a player’s Graveyard reached 200, that player loses.
